AFI - A Deep Slow Panic

Hallo! It's been a while since my last post. In this moment, I'm participating in a Creative Allies contest. It's about the next AFI single called 'A Deep Slow Panic'. It would be really great If I'm the winner. AFI is one of my favorite bands since ever. So, this is a result and a little story behind this artwork.

"Fear and Panic. A Slow panic. This is a story of a hunted animal that runs across the forest. Its killer aim at it with an arrow on fire. When it runs, it burns the forest. Its death represent the death of the other sorrounding species. A massive death provoked by a scared being. A deep slow Panic."

Star Wars Anatomy

Concept work made for The Anatomy of Star Wars event. I love the Anatomy concept and Star Wars is one of my favourite sagas, so i decided to use this event as an excuse to develop it. Chewbacca of course, is one of my favourite characters of the movie.

The Damn Show of Raphus - Le Corruption (2D Animation)

I decided to call this first animation, and in fact, the whole project: THE DAMN SHOW OF RAPHUS. This is the first Raphus Animation. Was totally insane to start in the Animation Field, because it's a world full of possibilities. I loved it. Here we have our friend Raphus, talking about Corruption (It's in Spanish) but basically he says that "Corruption is an unfair game played by loyal Mother Fuckers". The voice behind Raphus, that one you're gonna listen to, it's mine. I was so Inspired in John K's and Stephen Hillenburg's finest to do this work.

So i hope you like and share it. I'm not quite sure if i would start an animated serie of Raphus, would be interesting, but there are many upcoming projects on the road. If i start something will be totally in English, and would have all the satiric Raphus' humor. Enjoy and read my previous posts about Raphus to know some more about him!

The Damn Show of Raphus - Le Corruption (Stop Motion Version)

This is my first Stop Motion vid. We have one more time here, my friend Raphus, with his same opinion about "Corruption" but with a little bit intervention in it (Or Interruption?) I wanted to focused it in other ambient and space.

Obviously, for this special work, i made an Stop Motion Raphus doll. All the scenography was made by Camilo Ochoa. Here are some pics:

RAPHUS - The Character Evolution

The project started with a main idea: Create a random character and develop it. At the very first time, the character was so close to the original main image of a Dodo: The character needed to be more developed, and for this, it suffered important changes in its structure. It has to be related with its Character Profile too. An old fuck bearing an unfair society.




Then, Raphus started a significant change: Be more like a person and separate a little bit the cliché Dodo from it. I decided to put him arms and two long legs as a human. Obviously preserving Dodo's original elements.

 I wasn't pleased yet and I was wondering what more would be interesting for the character. After many sketches and stuff this was the nearest idea to the last Raphus, in this sketch i compare two kinds of Raphus: One original Dodo, and the Human Raphus.

Raphus taking more shape, with new human legs. It needed some more, anyway.

So this was the main idea; A Blue naked human with a Dodo Face. But, i thought it needed a bizarre element. I love bizarre shit. So a was like: "And what if Raphus would have Hairy human legs?" Would be funny...And Weird. So i gave him a pair of beautiful hairy legs. Raphus was complete.

RAPHUS - Character Design [No 1]

Hey! How it's going?
I will introduce you a character that i have been developed this year. His name is: RAPHUS. He is a Dodo, from Mauritius. He is a 40 years old Dodo and the last survivor of his specie. He's a crazy dude, living in New York, and helps people with their problems, inside his Job. Probably i wont do an animated Serie of it, but I love to draw, since i was a kid, and make many Illustration and design styles. So, here is one of the styles i use frequently, inspired in Toonist like John K, Stephen Hillenburg and others.

Well this Character came out from my Animation Class, and he has passed through many many evolutions (In other entry i will show you the character processes and this evolution) And i did a couple of animation Lines of him, that will be shown later too.
